Piezo sensor?
Hi,
I just installed Fritzing on my MacBook Pro. I'd like to use the piezo sensor which I see is located in core/piezo sensor.fzp.
However, I can not open it with Fritzing.
Can someone tell me how to do this?
Hi Martin.
All the fzp files are pre-loaded. Look in the Parts Bin widget which should be at the upper right. The Piezo sensor is the ninth icon under the "Output" section of the core bin. Or just type "piezo" into the search field at the top of the parts bin.

That's not really what I'm after. As far as I know, a piezo sensor is not the same as a piezo speaker.
There seems to be a part specifically called "piezo sensor.fzp", but I can't open it, and it doesn't appear when I search.
Hi Martin,
The file "piezo sensor.fzp" is the definition of the piezo speaker part--the file was not will named. The only part I know of in Fritzing that uses piezo sensing is the Barometric Pressure sensor in the Sparkfun Parts Bin.

Actually the piezo sensor and the piezo buzzer/speaker are the same thing! The only difference is that the buzzer has a piece of black plastic (the resonator) around the bi-metal. So it's totally okay to use that part in your sketch for both purposes.
Thanks for your answers :)
