i'll be able to resolve the problems, but... for gods sake!
Hey, that's a common problem with older versions of Windows. See the instructions at the bottom of the download page (point 5). After you have installed the missing libraries from that link, it should work. :)
You need the redistribution package with the dll.

Hello YU6AcIhf,
This might also be of help to you:
http://fritzing.org/forum/thread/547/
using a windows vm was just a workaround to hopefully get the program running after it didnt initially worked on linux/amd64.
now after i installed libpng-1.2.45 i get an error
cam@pissflitsche ~/downloads/fritzing.2011.07.11.linux.AMD64 $ ./Fritzing.sh
Cannot mix incompatible Qt library (version 0x40702) with this library (version 0x40703)
./Fritzing.sh: Zeile 12: 2727 Abgebrochen "$dirname/$appname" $*
now i downloaded the source tarball to hopefully get bindings to my version of qt.
./configure ; make ; make install is not possible, the README.txt is not source related and the docs/ folder is empty.
sorry, but i'm out of here.
Qt doesn't use the make system directly. If you want to build from source, your easiest approach is described here.
