Hey, that's a common problem with older versions of Windows. See the instructions at the bottom of the download page (point 5). After you have installed the missing libraries from that link, it should work. :)

You need the redistribution package with the dll.

using a windows vm was just a workaround to hopefully get the program running after it didnt initially worked on linux/amd64.

now after i installed libpng-1.2.45 i get an error 

cam@pissflitsche ~/downloads/fritzing.2011.07.11.linux.AMD64 $ ./Fritzing.sh
Cannot mix incompatible Qt library (version 0x40702) with this library (version 0x40703)

now i downloaded the source tarball to hopefully get bindings to my version of qt.

./configure ; make ; make install is not possible, the README.txt is not source related and the docs/ folder is empty.

Qt doesn't use the make system directly.  If you want to build from source, your easiest approach is described here.
