Breakoutboard for Sharp IR sensor GP2Y0D340K

A small breakoutboard for the Sharp IR Sensor GP2Y0D340K, with M2 screwhole.

The Sharp GP2Y0D340K IR sensor can detect objects up to 40cm away. Feed the board 5V, and check the digital OUT pin for detected object. OUT is high when nothing is detected, and it goes low when sensor sees an object.

A LED will light up when object is detected.

Components required:

  • GP2Y0D340K sensor
  • Capacitor, 100nF (0.1uF), 0805 SMD
  • Resistor, 180-270ohm, 0805 SMD. (Lower value means brighter LED).
  • Resistor, 1ohm, 0805 SMD.
  • LED (any color), 1206 SMD
