Very simple and usefull capacitor tester. It can test caps between 100p and 100n. May be it will show right results for other caps too, but it depends on the parts quality.

  • Usage: Plug the AC mains for a few seconds, then unplug it. Now the device is ready to use. Plase some capacitor on the test leads, and watch the bulb. If it blink once and stay off, the testing capacitor is good. If the bulb stay on, or continue to blink many times, or does not blink at all, the capacitor is bad.
  • It can test caps between 100p and 100n.
  • May be it will show right results for other caps too, but it depends on the parts values and quality.
  • (You can experiment with other values of the R1 and C1.)
  • DANGER! Always pay attancion and dont touch live wires and charged capacitors!
