This is the electronics for the automatic sun tracking system of a solar oven.

We built a Yaholnitsky solar oven and decided to add an automatic sun tracking system. It uses an Arduino Uno and follows the sun around during the day, so that the person on cooking duty doesn't have to attend to the oven. Four endstops provide security in case the sun moves out of the movement range of the mirror. The positioning is achieved by comparing the values of four LDRs. A PT100 temperature sensor reads the temperature inside of the cooking chamber and displays it, together with the LDR values, on a screen.

Further improvements are planned - buttons for moving the mirror manually, a timer to turn the mirror out of the sun after a determined time, a temperature regulatur to use the mirror out of the full focus of the sun, and a different sensor system or programming to avoid excessive movements due to a partially cloudy sky.
