...delete a custom part?

tcconway 9 years, 7 months ago

I edited a core part, then hit "save as new part". I can see the part in search results, but can't delete it. When I right-click, "Remove" is grayed out.

Please let me know how to delete a custom part? I've even looked for the .fzp and have even uninstalled/reinstalled the app

Reboot cleaned it up. Whatever it was. Disregard.

Disregard the disregard. The parts are back in search. Any ideas how to delete them?

Thanks, and sorry for the confusion.

Hi TC.

This looks like a bug--while you can use the "part" button on the lower right of the parts bin to "remove" a part from a bin, this doesn't actually delete the part files, so it will still show up in the search bin.

For the moment, you can delete these by hand: the location depends on your OS.  You'll find a "parts" folder in one of these directories.

Windows Vista/7C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\Fritzing
Windows XPC:\Documents and Settings\<username>\Application Data\Fritzing
Mac OS X/Users/<username>/.config/Fritzing

Go into the in parts/user folder, and delete the .fzp files for the parts you want to get rid of.
