UI problem: mouse wheel in inspector view (and potential segfault)

enricogueli 4 years, 3 months ago

Hi all, novice user here.

While using Fritzing to design a sketch, I notice something counterintuitive: while using the scroll wheel to navigate in the Inspector view, it may happen that one of the dropdowns goes below the mouse pointer. This makes the wheel behavior switch from "scroll the inspector view" to "change the dropdown item", that is not what I wanted to in that moment.

Here is an example: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gCO3f_hqRVo

This has also worse consequences: if scrolling rapidly, and the pointer goes to a dropdown for e.g. number of pins of a header, these may become really large and cause a segmentation fault. Already happened once :(

I would expect the inspector view to keep scrolling until I finish my scroll action, e.g. until I move the mouse pointer for more than a (small) threshold or some timeout expires.

Anything can be done to fix this behavior, at least temporarily?

Thanks!

Cheers,

Enrico
