Adjusting pin spacing does not work properly for breadboard view.

jorlin 2 years, 11 months ago

See also this related thread : Pin spacing does not work in breadboard view (not in the bugs category):

Steps to reproduce:

1 Goto Breadboard view.

2. Pick a part that supports pin spacing. I chose a screw terminal for this example.

3. Adjust the Pin spacing from the standard 5.0

What I would have expected:

The pin spacing is adjusted visibly and functionally, at least for factors of 2.54 mm.

What really happened:

The pin spacing parameter is adjusted, but the part stays visibly and functionally the same.

Tested version:

0.9.2 (from tar.bz2 archive)

Operating system: Ubuntu 14.04 64 bits

Afterthoughts:

The pin spacing on the generic IC part can be adjusted, but only if you edit a pin description afterwards.

This leads me to believe that the act of adjusting the pin spacing does not trigger a redraw of that part.

This might be because the spacings which are not a factor of the normal bread/strip/perfboard spacing of 2.54 mm would be problematic in breadboard view.

Eventually I have created a custom part as a workaround.

I hope this will be fixed in the next release.

Thanks in advance for fixing this bug.
