You would use this PCB for controlling DC and Stepper motors using an attiny45, a L293D  and a potentiometer. it'd control velocity and side (right - left). 

This circuit has designed to hack a DVD-ROM for using that as an "open-agitator". It shakes and mixes materials in chemistry and biology laboratories.
