Fritzing

I'm failing to control some leds.

I am trying to control some "DotStar" LED strips from adafruit with a raspberry pi. I am using a level shifter to go from the pi's 3 volts to 5 volts for the leds. The component in the diagram is not the level shifter but I used it to hold its place as it has the same amount of pins.
